The
Dual Filing Strategy

An exclusive approach only Remedy Navigators offers — designed to get your case on the official BOP record before the institution has a chance to block it.

What It Is

A strategy that gets the case on record before they can block it

When we file a case, we do two things at the same time: we send the inmate a copy of the form to sign, and we simultaneously file a copy directly with the BOP Administrative Remedy Coordinator.

This two-track approach ensures the case is on the official BOP record from day one — while the inmate still has time to deliver their signature. We don't wait for the institution to acknowledge receipt. We act first.

The result: the institution cannot claim they never received anything. They cannot 'lose' the form. They cannot delay the acknowledgment. The case is already documented — verified, on record, and much harder to block.

Why It Matters

Four real advantages for your case

The case is documented from day one

Our two-track filing approach ensures the case is on the official BOP record from the moment we file — before the institution has a chance to act. That creates a verifiable record the institution cannot ignore or make disappear.

The inmate has time to act

We coordinate the filing so the inmate receives a completed copy with clear instructions and enough time to deliver their signature. We don't let deadlines catch anyone off guard.

Eliminates roadblocks before they can happen

Institutions are known for 'losing' forms, delaying acknowledgments, or claiming they never received anything. When the case is already on the official record, those tactics stop working. We address the problem up front.

Strong paper trail from day one

Our two-track process creates date-stamped records from both sides of the filing. That dual record makes your administrative history much harder to challenge if the case reaches federal court.

How It Works

Four steps. Two simultaneous actions. One verifiable record.

You tell us what happened. We handle everything from there.

01

We prepare the form

Our team prepares the correct form (BP-8, BP-9, or whichever step applies) with the clear, factual language the BOP requires.

02

We send a copy to the inmate for signature

We send the inmate a completed copy of the form with clear instructions to sign it and deliver it to facility staff.

03

Simultaneously, we file directly with the BOP Coordinator

At the same time, we send a copy directly to the BOP Administrative Remedy Coordinator. This ensures the case is on the official BOP record from day one — before the institution has a chance to act.

04

The inmate delivers the signed copy

The inmate delivers their signed copy to the Coordinator. By that point, the case is already documented on the official record — verified, on record, and much harder to block.

How the dual filing works

From the moment we file to the moment the case is on the official record.

We File

We send a copy directly to the BOP Administrative Remedy Coordinator and another to the inmate for signature.

Case on Record

The case is on the official BOP record. The institution cannot claim they never received anything.

Inmate's Window

The inmate delivers their signed copy to the Coordinator. Our team actively monitors the deadline.

Case Verified

The signed copy joins the Coordinator's record. The case is verified, complete, and fully documented.

The result

The institution cannot claim they never received anything. They cannot 'lose' the form. They cannot delay the acknowledgment. The case is already documented before they can act — and that changes everything.

Frequently Asked Questions

What people ask

What happens if the inmate misses the filing window?

Our team actively monitors deadlines and will notify you well in advance to prevent this. If the window is missed for any reason, the filing record already exists — which means there is documented proof that the process had begun. In many situations, it is possible to file a new grievance citing that record as evidence.

How will I know my case is officially on record?

The BOP assigns a case number when it enters the grievance. The inmate will receive that number as confirmation. We recommend saving that number in your Member Portal — it is your verifiable proof that the case is in the system.
