Our Mission

Your Rights Don't Expire.
Your Deadline Does.

We educate families about the rights their loved one still holds. We empower them with the knowledge, tools, and step-by-step guidance to act on their loved one's behalf — clearly, correctly, and on time. And when the system fails to listen, we advocate relentlessly — so your loved one's voice is heard.

A properly filed complaint has the best chance of being resolved right where it starts. But when the system fails — when complaints are ignored and court becomes the only option — our members walk in with everything they need. Every form filed. Every deadline met. Every step documented. A complete record that no judge can dismiss.

What We Do and Why

Our mission is built on three pillars: Educate. Empower. Advocate. We believe that every incarcerated person deserves to understand their rights, have the tools to exercise them, and have someone in their corner when the system pushes back.

We educate inmates and their families about the administrative remedy process — what it is, how it works, and why it matters. Knowledge is the first line of defense. When people understand the system, they can use it. We break down complex legal procedures into plain language so that no one is left in the dark about the rights they still hold.

We empower them with the tools, resources, and step-by-step guidance to resolve problems on their own terms. From deadline calculators and form libraries to personalized case tracking, we give inmates and families everything they need to take action — clearly, correctly, and on time. A properly filed complaint has the best chance of being resolved right where it starts.

We document everything when the system fails. When complaints are ignored, forms go missing, and deadlines are manipulated — we make sure every obstruction is on the record, every step is properly filed, and every response is tracked. When court becomes the only option, our members walk in with a complete administrative record that no judge can dismiss on a technicality.

How We Live This Mission

What This Means for You and Your Family

Our mission isn't just words on a page. It shapes every tool we build, every guide we write, and every resource we put in your hands.

Every Form, Done Right

Our guide shows you how to prepare every grievance form with the correct language, the right attachments, and the proper citations — so nothing gets rejected on a technicality.

Every Deadline, Met

Missing a deadline is the number one reason cases get thrown out. Our deadline calculator shows every filing window so you never miss a date.

Every Roadblock, Fought

When forms go missing, staff refuse to help, or someone tries to scare you into giving up — our guide shows you how to document it, report it, and make sure it doesn't stop your loved one's grievance.

Every Document, Preserved

Keep copies of every form filed and every response received. If you ever go to court, you'll have a complete paper trail ready to go.

Both Perspectives

Our team includes formerly incarcerated individuals and contributors with direct BOP and DOC experience. We know the system from both sides — and that's your advantage.

Plain Language, Always

We explain everything in words that make sense. No legal jargon, no confusing forms, no guesswork. You'll always know exactly where your loved one's grievance stands.

Medical Care

“My brother had been requesting treatment for a chronic condition for over a year. The facility kept saying they were "reviewing" it. Remedy Navigators helped us file a BP-9 with the right medical documentation and language. Within 45 days, he was transferred to a facility with a specialist and started treatment. We never had to go to court.”

Living Conditions

“The heating in our unit had been broken for three winters. I filed complaints on my own twice and both were rejected for "procedural errors." When I signed up, they helped me refile correctly and escalated it all the way to the Regional Director. The heating was repaired within two months of the BP-10 response.”

Staff Conduct

“My son was being retaliated against after filing a grievance about a CO. The facility denied everything at every level. But because Remedy Navigators documented every step perfectly — every form, every deadline, every denial — his attorney said it was the most complete administrative record he'd ever seen. The court accepted the grievance immediately.”

Disciplinary Action

“I lost good-time credits after a disciplinary hearing where I wasn't allowed to present witnesses. I didn't know I could challenge it. The team helped me file through all four steps within the deadlines. At the Central Office level, the BOP reversed the decision and restored my credits. I'm now scheduled for release eight months earlier than I would have been.”

One Family at a Time, We Can Change How This System Works

The federal grievance process is designed to be confusing. Most families never find out it exists until it's too late. Every time you share this page, another family gets the information they need before the deadline passes. That is how real change happens.
